Hi,

Just had an E2e arrive (latest design) and saw that the front bezel now is longer than the original design - the glass lens now is further back. As a consequence the spill is smaller than before.

Any ideas why the change in front bezel?

Cheers,

Ian

hi ian, i received an E2o with the new bezel design you described. i'm guessing the scallops in the lens cap which was introduced a while ago made the pyrex lens more vulnerable to cracks, since the thinner portions of the lens cap would deform more easily when dropped. the lens cap was probably lengthened to better protect the pyrex lens /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

by the way, does the outer edges of your bezel lens cap look a little roughly machined?

You could be right there chamenos.

The outer edge looks OK, but not as nicely done as the earlier design perhaps.

The new bezel would have been nice to have on my early E20. It developed a chip in the Pyrex from one of it's many falls to the ground before I got a lanyard. It will be off to Surefire shortly for repair. Maybe I'll end up with the new bezel design.
