Re: NEOCA BL - Nickel Plated &Blemish Units 2stage

Hi folks,

I checked with PEU first about this and
he OK'd it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am offering a TWO stage mod for these BL's with Next Gen
converters for $40 shipped. The mod consists of installing
a silver coated spring and re-routing the circuitry to
add a 10ohm resistor in series between the converter and
cell.

It takes at least 45 minutes of my time and sometimes more
thats why I have to charge this much. The results have been great!
Li-ion use with these NG boards now become practical /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And I can do this with any NG board for that matter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can request PEU to ship directly to me to mod if you like.

Contact me by email for more details!

BTW - these nickel bl's are really flying out the door!
For those of you still deciding, you'd better think quick!

Re: NEOCA BL - Last Units

I received my two Nickel plated units and really love my first Neoca lights! I like design and construction of the light very much (couldn't resist to disassemble and reassemble one). Heat sinking is very efficent and future upgrades (new emitter or converter) should be quite easy.
And the Nickel finish is absolutely beautiful!

Thanks Pablo

Re: NEOCA BL - Last Units

Any word from the anodizers? If not, a nickel plated NECOA with a keyhole would be great.

Re: NEOCA BL - Last Units

Since My current obsession with lights at the moment revolves around small flashlights I can't say how happy I am to have received my little package today and what a little beauty it is. Soon I will line a bunch of these little lights together and compare a bit. I can say that it is bright and tiny and attracted a lit of attention on my movie set today when I lit it up. Bright yes. It is a beadblasted black. I have no idea what type of driver it is.
Can I use rechargble CR2's?

PEU? can you tell mw what driver that is in this lite.
The post from you to me was incredibley fast. Thanks for such a little gem of a light.

Re: NEOCA BL - Last Units

Almost sold out, just a few blemished nickel plated units (UCL/NG400/TW0J lux3), and no annodized units (I kept only one for myself).

And there is a single brass nickel plated unit, also with blemishes in the base which if needed Im prepared to let go /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif (same specs as previous)

I will post a photo (on monday) of all the units I had to discard, there is a full box, sad but true... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: NEOCA BL - Last Units

I just returned from a long face to face chat with the anno shop owners.

In brief:

1) They say the supports I made were the problem of the failure, and I say the oposite because when they broke all the keyring holes the support worked just fine and the annodized was ok.

2) They offered me to cover part of the amount I requested by doing jobs for free in the future. This may be an option, but Im not sure if I want to do a job again because the problems may repeat.

3) They said why I dont machine the threads after the anno process, and I explained that the pieces are to small to rechuck them in any lathe.

4) They asked me to leave with them almost all the stuck parts to see if they can be removed without damage. I told them that the work involved in doing that is FAAAR more expensive than redoing the whole pieces, but since they have ppl in the payrroll to do that, I give them that benefit. If you askme its futile. I did a lot of apparatus to hold firmly the piece and not damage it and I was only able to remove a few. Not to mention the time each part to be removed takes...

So next week I will know whats their position and based on that I will decide what to do.

No matter whats the outcome and my decision regarding this problem I decided the following:

I will offer a 15% discount coupon for all the people that trusted in my NEOCA BL project and not received what they were waiting for. The coupon will be valid for any light I build in the future and will be valid for a single time. If you want to transfer this benefit to other person thats OK too.

Here is the coupon list:

Thanks to all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: NEOCA BL - Last Units

Pablo,

That is a more than generous offer to us all! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am sorry to hear of all of your ongoing problems. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Do you have any plans for any more solid Brass or polished bare aluminium products? That may be a way to avoid the anno shop issues completely.

I love the Brass NEOCA. It really is one of the best looking lights that I own. How about your micro controller based light in a shiny brass case? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Take care

Mark
