FCC Approves Sprint-Nextel Merger

just what we need yet another mega merger. after a cooling off spell, higher prices is coming. wonder how many thousands of jobs will be lost.

based upon mega-mergers aproved. this is the most pro-large business administration in recent memory.

Ah, but like all big mergers, it will only be good for the consumer! They always find some bizzare logic to "prove" that prices will somehow go down and service will improve, despite competition being reduced...

Really big corporate mergers always make me laugh at the poor people that are trying to use their service. There seems to be a size beyond which a company simply cannot be run, at least not by business majors /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The only person this is good for is the CEO who will get a HUGE multi-million dollar bonus for pulling it off and then when the companies split off again in 3 years after posting a loss every year he'll get his golden parachute and retire all the way to the bank.

meanwhile the poor programmers in the billing department are laying awake nights thinking about the amazingly stupid things they are going to be asked to make the billing system do like yesterday and the conflicting project specs that they will be getting and the poorly documented database from the other company where they can't ask the programmers cause they were downsized before they were forced to write anything down... Can you tell I've been on that side of things? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif and you wonder why you're overbilled for stuff that doesn't work right anyway /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

lol!

Wait to buy the stock till they are just about to split up again, then the individual companies will do well again after that. But it's all downhill until then.

not much interest in this thread. kinda like when news is anounced there's a bit of interest, but then goes under everyone's radar..
