You could direct drive these in a MiniMag and a couple of lithium cells - no problem.

No problem??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif... Vf= H -> 3.03V - 3.27V running on 2x 14500 = 7.4V... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/str.gif...
Yep, will be very bright.../ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif.../ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon6.gif... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif... only, after approx 0.1 sec you will be left in the dark... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crackup.gif

Re: Five TW0H Lux III Emitters For Sale

These will be adequately bright running on a CR123 or even a couple of AAs/AAAs. Well within limits then.

Also I have noticed that even "H" Vf'd Luxeons may not be markedly brighter than a K or even J when pumped up on R123s or even Pila 150As. Just driven too hard is all, which is why the Cubs were never shipped with H's despite having sevral hundred stars on hand. Instead they will be put to good use in regulated applications, which will provide increased run times.
