What is the best choice for a small .5 watt or 1 watt LED in a screw head platform (in other words, no click switch) that uses one AA battery?

Thanks!

Only 1/2 Watt-1AA I heard of with a screw type switch is this one...

It's at Advancemart's site. Here it is.
All other ones I noticed are button switch.
I'd like to hear of others as well.

Sorry danielo_d, but that one is a rear button (reverse clicky) switch as well (I've had 3 of them). Thinking about the original question, I can only come up with 2 lights, and unfortunatley, they are both rather expensive:
Peak's Kino Bay 1AA

This light is of a good quality build, but has questionable regulation as seen here:

The other light is from TNC Custom Products:

This is generally considered to be an excellent quality light, but as you can see, the cost is high and the availability is low. Every now and then you may be able to find an older version on B/S/T though.

If you are willing to go with a button operated switch, there are several MUCH cheaper options made by Nuwai, and also the new Fenix L1, but its not available in the US yet.

Oh yeah, I just remembered one more that fits your criteria:

This one is very new, so reviews and details aren't known, but it looks pretty good, and is much cheaper than the others I mentioned- just note that it can't be used with rechargables.

man, Solstice, you're fast!
Oh wait,
BrightGuy has a 1Watt-1AA light with screw-type switch. Just recently added to his site...
Terralux 1AA ChromeStar

It's posted here...
Cool, eh?

And thanks for correcting me on the click-type switch on the 1/2 Watter I mentioned earlier. Good catch.

Wouldn't the CMG/Gerber Ultra Infinity fit in your criteria?

GoBow...the Infinity Ultra is only a standard 5mm LED that has considerably less output than a .5 watt light. From a design standpoint it fits the criteria...from an output standpoint, it doesn't. BTW, welcome to CPF...hold on to your wallet!!!
