Vital Gear bodies chemkoted?

I have 2 Vital Gear 3x123/2AA twisty bodies. One is darker in color and inside the tube looks to be bare aluminum. The other one is a lighter olive color and looks like it has inside a gold-toned coating. Is this Chemkote or some kind of anticorrosive coating? Both of them look identical otherwise with a coiled spring at the bottom of the tube.

gold toned one probably some type of chromate dip. which gives a min amount of corrosion protection for areas that cannot be anodized for what ever reason.

OK, thanks. I have 2 of these and am trying to determine which one to keep. The one with the bare aluminum interior matches up pretty good with a KL1 head.
