SMD LED is a nice alternative for 3 or 5mm lamps when confronting compact size application.

Lets share views.

"SOME" PALights use SMD LEDs...awhile back I ordered some and made sure they were 5mm. Maybe they use what the "current design calls for"? Maybe that was just the colored LEDs...not sure what the newest ones are using.

Seems I've seen a SMD on one of the Terralux drop-ins if I'm not mistaken...don't remember which one, and I also have another drop-in with a red one on it, but don't know who made it. Sorry!

The Aurora flashlight series all have the new Nichia Jupiter LED. It's a SMD LED :)

This does not appear to be a review, so I'm moving it to the LED forum.
