Recently received a Peak Caribbean after getting great service from MJ. As expected the beam is beautiful and bright, a nice combination of a bright, white spot and smooth, wide fill.

What I didn't expect was the heat. It gets quite warm after about two minutes, with either body style. It's not just the head that gets hot, but the entire body, too.

Is this level of heat the tradeoff for the small size? After a few minutes, it's not real comfortable to hold. Have other Peak Caribbean owners noticed this level of warmth?

If you like the light, but not the heat, the "Glacier Bay" model is the same form factor but the LED isn't driven quite as hard. There will be less heat and longer runtime.
