3watt Clones 1x CR123 @ Emilion

Anyone tried these interesting looking lights listed at Emilion's WorkShop?

3W Clone Flashlight C1L ($17)
(this looks like one of my favorite S1801 1w Luxeon 1xCR123 )

and

SmartFire 3W 1L ($18)

Both are 3watt clones 1x CR123, and can run on rechargeable RCR123....

If these clones do really output the equivalent of a 3watt Luxeon -
then we may have rivals to the very popular Nuwai Q3, at about 1/2 the price......

The links worked for me when I checked just now - but they are rather l-o-n-g urls - I know that's not going to be much help - you may have to do it the long way round -

- go to Emilion's Workshop Home Page (hope this works) the actual url is:
http://emilionworkshop.com:3072/oscommerce/catalog/

- click on Emil's Corner-> in the top left column
- Illumination-> when it displays in the top left column
- Flashlight-> when that displays
- choose 3W Led Lights

then choose

3W Clone Flashlight C1L

or

SmartFire 3W 1L

(these are all links, you could try the lowest 2 first to see if they work any better, and if necessary work back/upwards......)

Hope something works for you.....

I received an e-mail from Emilion with a bit more details to my query about these 3watt clone 1x CR123 lights.

SmartFire 3W 1L ($18)

3W 1L
106 x 31 x 24.5 mm
I haven't run a runtime test on it.
Its direct drive.

3W Clone Flashlight C1L ($17)
(this looks like one of my favorite S1801 1w Luxeon 1xCR123 )

3W1LC
Direct drive also, runtime is 51 mins (from 600 > 400 lux, and
5 more mins from 400 > 50 lux)

I just got my smartfire 5 watt and this is just one great light! Unlike most other 5 watt leds, this one works with the rechargable 3.6v cr123's. Even hot off the charger, no problem and bright as my 5 watt KL4 surefire head. I had read that you couldn't use rechargables on 5 watt leds, but this is not true of this one. In fact if you use regular cr123's w/ 3 volt output, it doesn't put out as much light as my nexgen AA minimag. This is a deal and not having to buy cr123's to feed this light is the topper.

So the SmartFire 3W 1L is 104mm long? Isn't that like over 4 inches long? Looks like a neat little light. Of course, I've seen pictures of an MXDL that made them look like neat lights too...

Any more reports on them? I think maybe the vendor should send one to QuickBeam for review.

Sanseiryu, how long is the runtime for 2 RCR123a? And can it take a 18650?
Non scientific test. Over 1 hour continuous runtime gradually diminishing to acceptable brightness, another 10-15 minutes to dimming. My batteries are 650mah. Really impressive. I don't know about 18650's as I don't use them.

The measurements of the SmartFire 3w 1L means it's quite noticably BIGGER than the other 3w clone light -

3W Clone Flashlight C1L ($17)
(this looks like one of my favorites - S1801 1w Luxeon 1xCR123 )
85mm X 26mm

SmartFire 3W 1L ($18)
106 x 31 x 24.5 mm

Direct drive from a 3.0V CR123??? Wouldn't that be too dim?

Vt, please edit out the session ID's from those url's (the part that says osCid=(long string of numbers). That's what the server uses to tell different users apart. If more than one person clicks on those links and use the same ID they'll end up sharing a shopping cart, not a good idea.

Many thanks for that catch paulr.

I've editted out all those session IDs - however I was not able to confirm if they are working correctly - as I don't seem to be able to access Emilion's site right now.

Bear in mind the last time I checked this version -
3W Clone Flashlight C1L ($17)
(this looks like one of my favorites - S1801 1w Luxeon 1xCR123 )
was no longer listed - so that link may well be broken anyway.....

People should be aware of clicking on any of my links that were QUOTED in other people's posts as I was obviously not able to edit those.

and I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused to any CPF members. Sorry.

Thanks,

I had a Smartfire 1L, output with a r123 was comparable to a Q3 on R123s, probably a bit dimmer. It has a bigger reflector so throw is better, but the spillbeam is dimmer than the Q3. I ended up giving it to my brother, as I prefer the Q3's beam pattern and slightly smaller size.

All in all it's a nice light and was pretty bright with a normal cr123 as well.
Most people not familiar with high end luxeons would think it was a great light, so it's a nice loaner/gift light. Just tighten the switch before giving it away as mine was a bit loose and wouldn't function well (this took a few seconds with a pair of needle-nosed pliers)

Don't know if you've dealt with him before, but I would urge caution, as he stiffed me $44.00 on an order that I never received!
