Does anyone know if the new generation led, and optics of the SF KL1 can be transplanted in to an older generation head?

I can't figure out how to get to the LED/optic section of the latest KL1, at least not non-destructively. It's been posted here that one can't get to that section because of the way Surefire designed the new KL1. KL4=easy. KL1=haven't got a clue.
