G&P appears to be offering its 5W Surefire module in two heads: a metal tactical head and the 9S body's 43mm miniturbo head for just $2 more.
Do you suppose the miniturbo head uses the same metallic, stochastic reflector used in G&P's 9S xenon lamp? How would the beam pattern differ?
If (as I believe) the 9S is identical to the LEDWave Z-3, it uses a plastic lens. I think the tactical head comes with a glass lens. My Z-3's plastic lens can pop right out; I've ordered a 39mm multicoated UV lens filter and will report (in my Z-3 review in the Incandescent forum) whether it fits the 9S head.
According to the descriptions, the miniturbo version is "only for the Surefire 9P," the tactical version ""only for the Surefire 6P". Do you suppose they truly differ in voltage? Fit should be the same.
