Ok here's one for you. Been trying to track this song down for awhile. Now it's become more of a game than anything -- I hear it from time to time, but never can find it.

Places I've heard it at:
• iHop
• The Gap
• Red Robin

Obviously it's a Muzak favorite. It sounds like it's probably from the 70s or 80s, but I have no clue. I think the chorus goes like this:

"something in the moooonlight...."

Dancing maybe?

And it's not: "Dancing in the Moonlight. Everybody's feeling warm and bright It's such...."

*EDIT*
This is silly, we live in the age of information overload and here I am trying to describe it to you in text. Instead: Just click here.

Nah, more upbeat than that. There's a xylophone or bells or something in the background that hits the melody, and maybe that's why it sticks so much in your head -- you can hear the melody when the singing had been drown out by, well, ambient noise :p

Just click here. to hear a self-recorded sample...

Raggie, I saw an interesting bumper sticker a day or two ago. It said:

Rock Is Dead
...
...
...
Long live scissors and paper

Oops, sorry! Back to the topic.

Well, you've successfuly got that song playing in my head. Maybe if it plays long enough, I'll be able to come up with some possible artists. The voice sounds a bit like Level 42. I'm might be singing the wrong words, but, to the clip you've provided I am going, "all - through -the night". The voice also sounds very much like The Moody Blues, but I don't think it's them. Sounds a bit like Mr. Mister, too.

Ok, I am now on a mission...

The song is "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson.

Now
The mist across the window hides the lines
But nothing hides the colour
Of the lights that shine
Electricity so fine
Look and dry your eyes

We
So tired of all the darkness in our lives
With no more angry words to say
Can come alive
Get into a car and drive
To the other side

*Me babe - steppin out
Into the night
Into the light
You babe - steppin out
Into the night
Into the light

We
Are young but getting old before our time
We'll leave the t.v. and the radio behind
Don't you wonder what we'll find
Steppin out tonight

You
Can dress in pink and blue
Just like a child
And in a yellow taxi turn to me and smile
We'll be there in just a while
If you follow me

Jeff

EDIT: you thought it was "in the moooonlight" and it really was "into the light"

WAAA!

What has he won?!

{Looks around}

Want a pad of post-its? How about a pencil? Wish I had some cooler junk on my desk here to send you...I guess this will have to do.

And as this thread fades into the moonlight, er, into the light (Hey it's even flashlight related! No wonder it catches my ear.) Saaby plays the song over and over again in iTunes.

All that light-related lyrical. I think this could be the new CPF theme song.

Joe Jackson was pretty cool. "Is She Really Going Out With Him" was probably his biggest song. I like the song "Don't you know that it's different for girls" but that might not be the name of it.
