my wife found "foreverbright" christmas lights at meijer in ohio. the leds are multicolored and encased in small plastic globes about 3/8 inch in diameter. i think there are different styles available. one box contains a strand of 70 lights. $9.95 per box. this seems to be a fair price.

That's about half the price that I paid for the same multicolored string back in 2003. The greens and blues on my light string are bright, but some of the other colors--particularly red--are rather dim. I'm curious whether they've improved the LED quality in the last two years.
