So you took it apart, put it all back together and now the light is staying on?
Probably the little tab on the inside thar goes to the edge of the switch mechinism is bent up a little bit making contact to the top of the Minimag tube.
Take apart. remove tab carefully and bend down to a 90 degree angle and reinstall.
