Here they are.
I built these for a customer and will be shipping them day after this post.
Each light has a georges80 1 amp buck regulator and a TWOJ emitter.
4 nicads (5 volts) are for one and 3 18650's (11 volts) are for the other.
Either light can take either battery set.
Now which one was which in the photos below?
Close up of the mounted emitters.
Lights with heads back on.
The 3X 18650 2200mah batteries are only getting 350 milliamps pulled from them.
2200mah divide by 350 = about 6+ hours runtime.
The 4X Nicads are getting 700 milliamps pulled out of them.
1400mah (crappy nicads) divided by 700ma = 2 hours
Both lights are ultimately getting 1 amp to the led.
Some efficiency was lost as the input voltage went up as you can see.
4 nimh 5000mah batteries should go about 7 hours easy.
Protected lithium ions are highly recommended for this to prevent overdischarge.
It only takes 1 remaining working lithium ion to make everything appear to be running ok while the other2 are getting permanantly damaged/destroyed from overdischarge.
Nicads, or nimhs should be ok and not get too terribly overdischarged with a setup like this.
