Any body know if there is a two stage switch for pm6 3w? It would be a good idea IMHO.

Since the Pelican M6 uses a Xenon bulb, it would not be as beneficial as you'd think. Cut the power by 1/2 and the light goes down to 1/4.

A resistor's two stage will still eat up a lot of power, so you'll burn 2/3 of tthe power to get 1/4 of the light. On the other hand, That would still give you 33% more run-time and a gentler light for close up work.

Check the McGizmo forum for the SF classic series two-stage drop in. There is some speculation that it will work with the PM6 tailcap.

Assuming it works (there's no real reason it shouldn't), it could be used with the PM6 HA 3w, PM6 LED or any PM6 modded with with a McModule.

Using the same with the Xenon bulb isn't really advisable as gadget_lover mentioned.

Wouldn't that be underdriving the bulb? And isn't that going to shorten the bulb life if you do? This is in reference to the Xenon, obviously. And being in the LED forum, I'm betting PM6 first mentioned wasn't meant to be PM6 Lithium?

What bedtime? :grin2:
