Anybody Killed a Lux5 LED yet?

Now I am not talking about some modified, overpowered super light. I am just talking about a stock store bought Lux5 light. (Surefire U2, L2, L5 etc)

Has anybody's LED given up the ghost or dimmed extremely noticeably with lots of use. Just curious because or the life specs on the Lux5s being so comparitively short. Not short compared to an incan but short compared to lower power LED's.

I vaguely remember one old thread about a LuxV loosing one die, but this was a modded and overdriven set-up IIRC. No idea about stock lights though :shrug: , sorry.

My L4 died, the head was quickly replaced by Surefire. The LED went bad, it would light up 1 of the 4 dies very dimly then went out all together.
There is a thread where a few of us had a similar problem.

I've tried to kill my old KL4, but I gave up as it refused to die.. Stubborn 'lil thing! I ended up selling it on E-bay. Maybe that person will have better luck puting it out of its misery....
