Depends on the degree. Lots of tailcap springs in SF and others are not precisely perpendicular to the metal plate on the tailcap.

The important thing is that the spring is compressing in the correct axis when the tailcap is screwed down. In other words, not being pushed over and compressed on its side.

Also sometimes you can just grab the spring and turn it to make it stand straighter. If it is compressing correctly and making reliable contact, you probably have little cause for worry.
