well... yes.... you can get a Surefire KL1 LED head, also can get a KL4 head... you can get other heads that will fit into your E-series head...

Modify a scorpion base to accept a Strion Bulb and put inside the e1e with a Li ion 123, it will be way way brighter than the e1e, and a just a bit more than the regular e2e for about half the size.
Edit, you are in the leds forum! the mod is for incandescent, you could get a PR reflector and head but it will be a bit more expensive, the incan, mod can be done for about $6 for base and bulb, and 20 for batteries and charger.and the rest is elbow grease or dremel.

Ya I was thinking of going to led, Yhanks Guys, a lot of help here. Now to sort out the path and details (read dollars).
