About $6,700.

Yeah, I got one of the 1905FP Dell displays, and am quite happy with it. I just wonder how long the backlight bulbs will last. As long as it outlasts my Sony CRT that died in just under 5 years, I think I'll be happy.

At 20 inches diagonal, the lamps should be ok, especially since that is not a particularly difficult color rendering application if it is just used as a monitor. Not sure about 5 years though.

The big benefits I have seen with the LED backlighting is the extreme color rendering, and the very long life in 30 + inch applications. At 40 inch, I would be very hesitant about buying a TV or monitor based on CCLs.

I have see the protos of this app at Lumileds, and their "test" move, which is "Finding Nemo". There is an interesting kind of 3 D / depth enhancement effect that comes with the backlight change as well.

Definitely makes LCD competitive with plasma for color quality.
