Casting LEDs in Clear Resin

Hey, I need an expert opinion. I'm building a boat light using red and green LEDs, both 14,000 mcd/20 degree field of illumination. I was thinking that to keep the moisture out, etc., I'd just cast the LEDs in a ball of clear resin. Two issues:

1) The resin gives off heat during the casting process--about 150 degrees. Would this be enough to damage the LEDs?

2) Will the LEDs overheat (assuming I'm not overdriving them or anything).

Thanks for any opinions. Great site, BTW.

If you are using 3, 5, 8, or 10 MM LEDs they will run fine in the resin. If you are running one, three, or five watt high power leds they will need a heat sink.
