Are 3.6 volt rechargable 600 mA(protected) the best suited to power a 3w Luxeon. Can anyone suggest a better/ safer/stronger rechargable if one exist. I do not have a prob. with the 3.6 volt 600mA, I just have no idea whether this is good or not. Thanks.

What light are you specifically asking about? An existing of the shelf light or something you want to have made up? The rechargeable LiONs are great for a custom or semi-custom light but many standard lights that take 2 123 cells can't handle two ~3.7V to ~4.2V rechargeables with the factory electronics.
I think something that ran on an 18650 driving a Lux III would have a great little 'sorta Fenix, sorta Q3' type light.
