Yes, if you interupt it soon enough, the broken switch mode is activated until the next reset.
The switch is tested on reset. When a dome switch fails, it typically fails in the closed posistion. If the switch is closed on reset, the light assumes the switch has failed and activates the light at the secondary brightness. This allows you to continue using the light even if the switch is broken.
If you wait a little longer after reset and interupt the RFS (rising levels), the light will shut off and act normally.
