Hi everyone,

Which is more efficient?
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/nuwai_q-3.htm
(<1h burn time till 50%)
(less bright)
or
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/nuwai_tm301x3.htm
(2h burn time till 50%)
(more bright)
I'm planning to get the second one and use rechargables.

Since the second one seems to last longer and brigther the choice is obvious if you don't care much about the size. Also the size is not that much different anyhow.

Any thoughts would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.

TIMCODES,

The 2 cell is a much nicer light, and the silver finished model wears much better than the black. DO NOT use rechargeables in the 2 cell model or you will damage the circuitry!!!!!

I'd still think using any rechargeables is a risky proposition. Only one person says that he's used them and didn't provide any pics or details.

Take that for whatever it's worth. If you can use a little bit bigger light, how about the VB-16 that works fine with rechargeables and has multiple levels of output to maximize the runtime even more?

Another option is to get a Q3, and buy the 1 cell extender so you can use a single 18650 or Pila 168 cell. That should give more runtime than two rechargeables in the TM301 and give more brightness than the normal Q3 on a primary 123. The only drawback is you'd lose the 2 stage output unless you found and bought a 2 stage tailcap.

Another member has an extender for sale here.
