For you guys that have experience, is this true?

I'm sure it has/could be used to detect trip wires, but this is the first I have heard of it.

Somebody had a really good idea that saved lives. The guy deserves many thanks from his fellow Marines, and any Army guys who's lives are saved by his brother using the idea.
Makes sense when you think about it, but I'd have never thought of using that myself. I wonder how he did.
