Hi there... I'm a bladeforums transplant... decided I needed a flashlight to add in to my collection. I'm a security guard, and our patrols are all from 10:45PM to 4:00AM, so it's nice to have one. So $160 @ TADgear later... I have an Inova T4 and an X5 with the TID attachment in the mail, the latter of which I intend to carry as my primary EDC while working.

So... I don't know all that much about flashlights... how'd I do?

They are good lights. You can find a lot of information on other threads by using the search function and just entering T4 or X5.

The X5 is great at drainning the batts down really low,
it will be dim by then, but it will get every last drop out.

The T4 is excellent,
I have one mounted in my truck.
Nice throw, rechargable lithium, and the charging cradle is sweeet.

I have reviews on both lights here..

the T4 is a great light but its doesnt have too much spill, but it throws really well, the X5 is a great little light too i am going to replace my old one soon (it went for a swim - 24 hrs at 4 metres in salt water, oops)
and the runtime on the X5 is amazing too

are you a dale brown fan by any chance ?

I have the T4, it was my first Luxeon. It holds up well against my many other lights. It's built solid. Mine has good throw. I guess if I had one thing that I wish could be changed about it, that would be adjustable brightness, at least two levels. Of course that would change the beauty of it's simplicity of operation, it works just like a Maglite. IMO you did well to buy it, especially as an introductory to Luxeon LEDs light!

If you have the ability or means to try variable brightness LED lights, by all means do so. Benefits are extended battery life, and more discreet lighting for dark adapted eyes, or less disturbance to others.

For my this is a good flashlight, come for a 5 watts Luxeon, use 4 c bateries, maybe is a little large, but is ok, nothing is perfect, a thing compensates the other, the type of batteries that it requires is very cheap, well, look the features down there, maybe a order the next week, i am going to order too a cuoples of bateries c rechargeable...
