I have a Lightwave Infiniton C1 which I think is the same light (same output numbers) using 3 C batteries instead of 3 D's. Very nice workmanship, bright (maybe 900 cd), very tight (no spill), squarish white colored beam. Long run time (near 7 hours) with excellent regulation. See

It will run on 3xAA nimh's for a while (2 hours? - I never wanted to test it for fear of reverse charging a battery) using a simple sprinkler pipe adapter.
Nice light, but I don't use it much because of it's size (and the D1 is no doubt bigger) and lack of spill.
