I had this project sitting around, waiting for a good battery adapter solution - a 2D Mag, Hotlips heatsink, 3W Luxeon, and a Downboy 1000 converter. While waiting for Modamags 6 to 2D adapter to arrive, I hit on this idea for three CR123 to 2D.

1-Some washers and a screw to extend the spring. It needed to extend about 1/2 inch (1.5cm). Some folks like to stretch the spring.

2-I cut a rectangle of 1/4 inch (7mm) foam neoprene to 4 x 3-3/8 inch (10.5cm x 8.5cm). From an old mousepad or scrap of wetsuit material.

3-Roll it and stuff it in.

4-Not a perfect fit, but it works, doesn't rattle, is easily removable.

I used a stick of A/C pipe insulation from lowes slicing off some of it to use for a 1AA to D adapter for the eveready accent lanterns.
