Hi all, I trying to mod my maglite with single luxeon V, but I'm still deciding which type of luxeon V I should use. Since I saw many mag mod with high dome, have anyone tried mod a mag with luxeon side emitter?

Yes, side emitters have been used in Mag mods. I believe they were designed for use with reflectors in mind. Depending on the reflector, a wide range of flood to spot can be achieved.
