TacStar 5W LED miniturbo

TacStar's 3x123A 5W LED (Luxeon?) comes in a miniturbo head rougly the diameter of a Streamlight TL-3's (41mm). It usually sells for $105 to $125. Well, as I write, a vendor is selling a dozen T9 LEDs and xenons on eBay for $72.25 + $6.25 shipping. Any takers?

Curiously, it's rated at only 75 lumens Sounds way underdriven.

Their 135-lumen xenon T9 miniturbo looks like a worthy TL-3 rival. Remember, their T6 is a Pelican M6 clone; the T9 appears to use the same reflector design, scaled up in voltage and size. An M6 on steroids and 17500 rechargeable cells, anyone?

The 75 Lumens is actually a fairly honest number. I think there is still a bit of wildness on Lumens claims going on out there. Keep in mind, a V bin Lux V is still considered "normal" and only a few are using W bin Lux Vs.

It is not that easy to achieve more than 50 - 60 % of the LED bin rating out the front of a light in real use.
