KL1 for L1 Lumamax

Hi!
I've got L1 Lumamax (old version) and new KL1 (3W, 2'nd generation) with E2e body. Is it possible to replace L1 head with new KL1?
Does it make sense?

The L1 has the electronics in the body of the light, while the KL1 has the electronics in the head. The L1 and KL1 heads are not interchangable.
