I built my first ever mod a little over a year ago. It's TV1L direct driven in a 3D host. When I made it I was pretty jazzed about it and thought it was great. My friends were quite impressed.
I was out walking the other night and grabbed my KL1 on an E2e body and the old mag. The KL1 KILLED my mag mod. At the distance I could put a spot with the mag I was lighting up the side a house with the KL1 but the spot wasn't even more intense like I would suspect from the large reflector. The spill wasn't great either.
Honestly I was shocked. I thought it would at least put up a fight with the 30 lumen KL1. I was using Nimh fresh off the charger. I suppose I should get a meter and see what's happening in there or upgrade the emitter.
Anyone else experience this? Just thought I'd share. The KL1 beam without spill is annoying if you're out looking for something you dropped in the dark etc. but I've gotten to really like it nevertheless.
