What will a rechargeable 123 do for a E1L? Longer runtime? Brighter? I am going to get a Kl4 head and make a T4 but was wondering what improvements the RCR123 would make to a standard E1L.

Thanks

My E1L is slightly brighter (metered) with one R123 than putting it on my E2 body with two regular, primary, 123 cells. That surprised me.

I'd like to know if the new KL1 is safe with two RCR 123 cells.

Your KL1 should be fine with 2 rechargeables. It is fine with 3 primaries (9V).
This is not true for the KL4.

Yep my #2 EDC. it's great on a R123, a little brighter on a Li ion and in a E2 body with primaries. With the Vital Gear FB-1 1x123 it's small, easy to use, and very pocketable. VDG

I think it's safe to use 2 protected rcr123 but not unlikely if you use the unprotected batts in a series. I use my E1L with 1 unprotected rcr123 1000 mAH. It's brighter that the primary cell and stay for around 40 minutes.
