Hmmm.. for sceanarios such as...

lawsuits for
- someone tripping over something and impaleing themselves with a flashlight?
- flashlight embedded in someone's skull from a flashlight freely sitting on the back ledge of a car and it being throw forwards into the driver's head as a
result of an accident?
- How about this one... a strobing flashlight indicating low battery distracting
a driver at a drivethrough causing the driver to spill coffee on his/her thigh
and getting a second degree burn as a result?

people are crazy

Actually this is required to do some forms of business and is in many contracts.

The batteries were far more expensive for liability than I thought they would be. But flashlights are quite high as well. I am just wanting to find out what levels we really have to have and how hard we are going to be truly hit. This might be a product buster.

I personally have a hunch that gaglite has some lobbists working hard to
deter lights from overseas. For example, tariffs for "portable lighting devices"
are among the highest tariffed items. 12.5% to be exact!

What you need is called vendors coverage. This is something that the manufacturer buys & it protects all his vendors who are selling his product. Once this coverage is in place he can give you a certificate of insurance to prove you have coverage. Basically, it is making you an additional insured under his policy.
Hope this helps.

Jon, are you an LLC yet? IMHO that is a good place to start as this
shields you from personal liability to a certain extent.

that is not what I am trying to do.....I need to get this done for other reasons.

I am not concerned about getting sued at all.

I think I am needing to find someone like an insurance underwriter but be able to talk to him for advice where he is not acting in a position to sell anything. Is needing information.
