Does any one have a this set up? Thinking of this set up in a sf defender and was wondering what the run time might be.
I don't think you want to run a Malkoff drop in with a 18650 due to the voltage input requirements of the drop in 3.8V (or greater) and the voltage output of the 18650 (starts at 4.2V and goes down to about 2.7V on a protected cell). If you want to run an 18650 I'd look at the various Dereelight Digital P60 drop in modules which are specifically meant for a 18650 or other Lithium-ion rechargeable.Does any one have a this set up? Well, it will work, but once it's out of regulation (pretty quick) the brightness will start dropping. If you don't care about the light staying in regulation it will work fine, but if you want your light to have flat regulation for the whole battery life you need to find another option. IMHO, if you don't care about the light staying in regulation and are OK with directdrive, why pay a premium for a Malkoff in the first place? :shrug:I'm not to worried about getting the 18650 to fit in a 6p. got a pretty good machine shop at my disposal. If Malkoff Q5 will run down to 3.7 regulated then drop out of regulation below that why wont a 18650 work? It starts at 4.2
