So wil the new light with 2 buttons be called HITF...How in the F :)

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

I plan to make the pushbutton tail available as a standalone option for the HF.
Then at some point, the HF will be available with either rotary tail, button tail or both.

I'm gonna have to say no, keeping the PCB currently in play. Remember, I have the first one out the door in the Cu U2...it had 3 positions to begin with, 2 lo and one hi. There wasn't much of a safe zone between modes, so I marked mine to be sure I could leave it between the lo's for safety. So having had that I have to say we're better off, safety wise, with the long position to leave the light when in the pocket. Does that make any sense? Realistically I think it's better that way, now if the balls were more of a detent action, so that they clicked into position, it might be different.

My thoughts are Hell Ya.
Bring on the moonlight mode. Nothing worse than being totally dark adapted and Waaaaa, you've ost your night vision.
Sure if one has a Core Ti then they would probably use it. But if all you have is the concrete busting HF in your paw, then why not. I would like to see the safe off kept though and would prefer a 90 degree between modes and a ~180 safe off.

Maybe this isn't the light to do this with? One of your other creations may better require this many options.
Like I said, something that has a twist to set, click for on, with detents for physical designation of level. Or single direction movement (like a typical control ring) but then that's the torpedo, no?

Thanks for all the fast feedback.

Ok, will probably make a small quantity of 3 modes for people who want to try them.

The switch pcb and tail mechanics are being improved too.

Guy has a tendancy for pleasing us Flashaholic masses.
That said, perhaps leave the current design standard, and offer the upgraded 3 mode tail as an option.
We don't want to overload the factory with all our quimsical wants . . .

Realistically speaking the current 3 mode suggestion would give the factory 30 different configuratins to keep tabs on including the soon to be HF Alluminum. Just sayin . . .

GL,

Its a lot of options.... :)

and I was hoping to shrink the number of options :feint:

at least, hoping to somehow get through it with out pre-orders if at all possible.

Any ideas when the last ones will leave their home? I really should pull the trigger faster next time, with the CoreTi I also had to go through the torture of seeing all those nice pictures before being able to play with my light :D

Hi Mystmyst,

Most of the HF's with the exception of HF-AL-Gray and the few people I've mailed will go out this week.
Please feel welcomed to mail me if you'd like to double check.

Thanks,
Tgwnn

I would definitely go for a third moonlight mode it there was a stop to the rotation; all the way left = stop at off. Towards the right for moonlight, then med then high, then stop at off again. This would eliminate confusion as to which way for which mode - even though there could still be off positions between each mode and give the option to start from high. The stop should be a single position so the tail would rotate just about 360 degrees.

Thanks Cataract,

The rotation stop will need some design changes so may have to save the moonlight until I get that done and consider something like:
10lm, 100lm, Max

Still wondering what happened to my replacement Ti tail, and the on-order Alum?

Hi FsTop,

Thank you for your patience.
Got your replacement tail with the last package, will be going into the post by tomorrow with the other HF Ti's.
Waiting on the final word from the workshop for the HF Al's which have been upgraded to an XML U3 emitter.
I should have the exact timing on the HF Al's by tomorrow.

mmm. If there's going to be more Ti coming, I might need to get in on one as well. Was just looking at the pics of the raw Ti and it's smexy! lol.

A third setting would be great. Either a moonlight or a medium mode works for me! I just got my email that my last HF is on it's way to join the rest of the family. Yippee! Soon time to start stalking my mail lady......
Now I anxiously waiting the next product announcement. The obsession continues......

I sent off quite a few HF's in the last 2 days....
just a few more to pack and then a handfull to come back from the workshop.

Planning to send out most of the shipping mails today.

When will there be more HF's Ti available?
Hi Light11,

Possibly end of the month. I'm expecting a few more back from the workshop, just a matter of how quickly I can check them.
If you check the HF order page on my website, I've added a link to a US distributor who has some HF's left in stock but no Ti's.

Indeed, me too.
I am planning to make another batch of HF Ti's which might be ready end of march/april.

Thanks PANGES :)

Panges, oh yes it is! The Cu version is a worklight, the Raw Ti is Sweeeet! ;)

Thanks wyldthng,

I have to collect some proto's that just landed, might be tomorrow though.

And I do have this other thing I've been working on for a few years...
proto's arriving in about a week, totally excited about that.
I need to wrap up some paper filing before I can unveil it but I'm very very itchy on that one :)

I was glad in a way the HF-R's were a little delayed, so I could get through wrapping up most of the remaining HF's.

I did get word on the ETA for the Aluminum HF's too.
Unfortunately, its looking like they will be completed at the end of the month,
Fortunately, they will also have an improved circuit/switch which has been in the works,
and I'm hoping to have some available with 3 modes. As mentioned, these will all be upgrade to XM-L U3.
