Hi. I'm new here. :)

I would like to get a Zebralight S6330, but it is out of stock everywhere. Was the S6330 plagued by many errors in that it was so short lived? Is there an upgraded version soon to be released?

I already contacted them. They are releasing the updated model "later this year". There is nothing wrong with the current model, but they discontinued it anyway. I have decided that it has to do with limited production capacity to produce new lights and current lights. Hopefully they will get that together soon, so they can sell more lights.

Hello World!
Can anyone name any other flashlight manufacturers beside HDS and Zebralight that are unable to satisfy current demands for their products?

I already have a ZL SC600 (v1) and I'm very happy with it. I was thinking about buying a Fenix TK75, but if ZL will offer the S6330 again in not too long, I think I will wait for that.

Fenix has issues as well, at least with some models. The PD32UE was constantly out of stock at many places for months, for example.

I haven't heard about problems with the S6330, everyone who has one seems to love it. It is somewhat expensive, though, and if you are willing to go a little larger, you can get better performance and more features for less money. The key selling points are the ultra-compactness, and the UI. If that is important to you, the S6330 is unique.

The size and UI are some of the features I like about ZL. And the fact it is a flooder makes it perfect for my use. The Fenix TK75 might be a good choise also, but I don't like the UI on Fenix as good as the UI on Zebralight. Are there other flashlights in this segment I should consider? No need to go way beyond 2500 lumen, but it must be a flooder.

The Nitecore TM11 is another option...I think it has even wider flood than the S6330. Really depends on whether or not you like the interface, and are willing to go a little larger. Like I said, if you want that size and that UI, the Zebralight is your only choice.

If money is no object, look at the Lupine Betty TL2. 4500 lumens and only slightly taller then the 6330, but lighter and thinner. I have the old Betty TLs at 2600 lumens and the zebralight appears only slightly brighter when using indoors since it has a more concentrated hotspot versus the Betty. Do a search for Lupine Betty on this forum and you will see what I mean. Be ready to spend around $800 for a new set. The battery is proprietary so you cannot simply swap 18650s like you can on the 6330. I have some pics of the 6330 and Betty TLS in another thread. Let me know if you cannot find it. The Betty TL2 has a slightly larger head then the TLS. The US supplier is Greta bikes. They may have some of the Betty TLS still in stock. It has been phased out in favor of the TL2. Last issue is the UI. The Betty's UI is not perfect but allows a few different programs but the zebralight is superior in the UI and has more levels and lower lows.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll take a closer look at the TM11.

Thanks, but at that price the Lupin is unfortunately way out of my league. Don't want to go much over $250,-

Gotcha, you might look at the Nitecore TM26 as well. 3500 lumens and not much bigger. If it were me, though, I would just wait for the S6330. It is that good :)

Good idea, but when it will be released is anyone's guess. Hope you patient. In my opinion, the Zebralights are worth the wait. I assume you have another light to use, in the meantime?
Yeah, I think I'll just wait for the S6330. :)

Yes, I have a ZL SC600 that I use almost everyday. And a Magcharger that I use, well... almost never... I have been thinking about upgrading it with a Terralux MiniStar31, but I'm not sure if I will use much if I get a ZL S6330.

I have never heard of the Terralux, but I do not have any mag lights, or the like. The Zebralight would be smaller, and perhaps a bit bigger around(grip) than a 4 d maglite, but it depends on what you will use it for. There are so many lights to choose from, it is mind blowing. I usually look at one model for a while, and then decide whether to buy, and perhaps do a catch and release, but I prefer certain Manufacturers over others, IE, interface, quality(sometimes perceived), etc.

I'm happy to see this thread, as I've been in the market for a 3 x 18650 light. It's just so difficult to buy something else when I know Zebralights are so efficient (and have such a great UI)! I'll probably do as the OP plans to do, and just wait on the new version. Maybe there will be a pre-order promotion in the Dealers' Corner at CPFMP!

Fwiw, I'm waiting on the S6330 too. And, I'm going to try to modify it to use TIR lenses like the Lupine Betty does too; jut a lot cheaper. Someday..

The Betty does not throw any further than the s6330. I have both of them.

Wow! If that's true, the s6330 could easily throw farther than the Betty by simply collimating some of its' copious spill into the hot-spot! Imho, (and I think we've argued about this before) ZL's wall-of-light compromises night-adapted-eyes and subsequently the throw one is able to actually see; regardless of what the meter reads down-field. ( i.e. the s6330 w/TIR could both throw better meter readings as well as real-world reading of house numbers at 50 meters or something like that. :poke: :)

Mind experiment: Subjectively determine how far away you can, say, read house numbers with a single SC600. Then, strap seven of them together and see if you can do the same thing 2.6 times farther. If not; your less night-adapted eyes are limiting what you can actually see.

Don't get me wrong, I love my floody SC600. But I'm trolling for more usable throw without a satellite-dish sized reflector. A S6330 w/TIR could collimate 2000+ lumens into the hot spot and "spill" just 200-400 lumens to keep me from stepping into a hole while I'm focusing down-field. ==> And, that's more valuable to me than what the Betty offers. But, it's still shocking that the stock throws are comparable!

It's a moot-point tho, until ZL resumes production anyway... :sigh:
