    Klarus G30 limited version for Thanksgiving, Christmas

    "The G30 contains a built-in mechanism that regulates the flashlight's temperature, so it will stay at a tolerable temperature for the user; this method also preserves the integrity of the LED bulb's power. " Reference: http://www.batteryjunction.com/klarus-g30.html I believe that means it has...

    Nitecore SRT3 -> EC11 body-extender compatibility?

    BTW, I tried the EC11 head on a number of my other flashlights. It fit the Thorfire C8s that I purchased a couple of weeks ago for $13.99. That turned out to be a cheap way of converting the EC11 to run on 18650's. Everything works, even the battery level indicator function. And the tail switch...

    Nitecore SRT3 -> EC11 body-extender compatibility?

    Here's the question I posed to Nitecore, yesterday:Can you please clarify your last response? Can the EC20’s body tube be used with the EC11 head and tail for the purpose of running the EC11 on 18650 batteries (i.e., does the 18650 battery properly fit this combination)? Can you also check on...

    Nitecore SRT3 -> EC11 body-extender compatibility?

    I corrected my original reference of EC21 to EC20. While the EC11, EC20, and EC21 all have the same diameter head; the body of the EC21 seems shorter than the body of the EC20. I don't think that the EC20 and EC21 are interchangeable. Manufacturer's photos of the three lights, adjusted to...

    Nitecore SRT3 -> EC11 body-extender compatibility?

    I noticed that the head diameter for the EC11 and EC20 were the same. So I sent an email off to Nitecore, asking them whether the EC20 body was compatible with the EC11 head. Here's their response: Thank you for your interest in Nitecore's products, yes, we can confirm the head portion of...

    New to rechargeables

    2sparky: Personally, I ... ... check the voltage of my cells before charging; ... check the voltage after charging; ... never leave cells in the charger unattended; ... have the charger on a cutoff timer, as a failsafe, should I ever forget; ... remove the cells as soon as they are fully...

    Urgently need help choosing an SF Flashlight!

    Are you just lookiing for illumination or are you looking for rendition? If you're uncertain, I'd suggest compromising with something reasonably warm, like the Fenix P3D Rebel. And be sure to carry an extra set of batteries and a small backup flashlight.

    New to rechargeables

    I asked Scott (Milkyspit) about whether the 18500's needed to be IMR's. He said that the regular 18500's would work fine. Only for the smaller 16340 did he recommend using IMR's. In practice, I've found the heat build up to be the limiting factor in how long I run the light on max; not the...

    New to rechargeables

    2sparky: I think the Pila IBC is well worth the money, but then again, I use it almost every night. You may find this other thread of interest: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=233081 The 2x123 Gossamer is a nice EDC size. Small. Lightweight. Easily packed. And bright...

    Olight M30 Triton Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS and more!

    Edog006: Your point is well taken on the CR123's. Like you, I much prefer the 2x18500 form. Nonetheless, I keep a half-dozen primaries in the M30 carrying case for use during emergencies. Selfbuilt's runtime graph doesn't faze me. The human eye is not that sensitive to changes in output...

    Which flashlight for emergency services?

    Kipper: Flashaholism is a spirit, not an inventory. Judging from your spirited post, I'd guess that you qualify. ;)
