Are you a member of the Zebra herd?

Currently have the SC30, SC60, and the SC600. One of the reasons ZL can be so small is the location of the switch. It takes 20 to 30mm to package a standard clicky switch so for any given length the ZL will be shorter because they don't have to add length for a rear click switch. Build quality...

    New Inforce weapon light

Lexan has its weaknesses, years a go I had a streamlight stinger and after a few years of use the center of the lens had warped from the heat of the bulb. I'll stick with glass, any hit hit hard enough the damage the glass will damage the lexan, and I can easily replace a damaged glass lens...

Why warm tint is more preferred in flashlight, scientific explanation

I find that warm tint leds look artificially brown, much prefer neutral tints.

    Upgrading RRT-2 with a XML

Don't change the led, not worth the cost. Unless you want to do the work yourself, it's always fun to tinker with your lights. Another good light with the XML is the Zebralight SC600, I have one and it is great. My friend Freddy was gobsmacked when he saw how much light a small flashlight...

    Weapon light revisited

I got the TLR3 since it was for a HK USP 45 compact and I didn't want the light to stick out too far. It was $74 shipped from Lighthound. The light is excellent, very bright, well built, and most important lightweight and small. I think the fact that they made a secure mount that can be...

+100, just pick one up from Lighthound for under $80 shipped. Mounts perfect on my H&K USP Compact 45.

Finally decided on a JetBeam; thanks to all who gave advice.

Great choice, I just got that same light 2 weeks ago and it is the one I grab when I head out at night. I run the 2600 mAh 18650 flat top in it. Get the 20% at BOG.

Why are warm LEDs preferred by most on this forum?

Just got a Jetbeam pro-iii ST bvc with the q3-5a and the color rendition of objects is incredible, it absolutely puts my RRT-2 to shame. The RRT-2 gives objects a sickly pale green look. (maybe an LED swap is in order) Another excellent light is the Zebralight SC-30, I have the cool white...

Zebralight is going to come out with flashlights! part 2

That would be a bummer, the SC30 is a great flashlight and I've been waiting for the SC60 to land.

Finding the perfect EDC. will it ever ends...

Zebralight SC30 or the Nitecore D10 or EX10. The SC30 is a great light, I no longer carry my D10 since I purchased the SC30 (still have the D10 though)

    Why the maglite hate?

I don't hate them but after hanging out here and seeing what other flashlights are available I'll never buy another (I have 2 old ones) As mentioned, they are dim, not particularly well constructed, not visually appealing, and have terrible beam patterns.

    clicky vs twisty

clicky only for me, not interested in any light that you need to twist to turn on or access features.
