Another how to check battery voltage question

Hello, Voltmeters can tell you a little about the condition of a battery/cell, but some cells like a lithium primary could have a open circuit voltage at 2.95-3.0v and still be almost at the end of their usefull life. Batteries/cell need to have some kind of load applied to see the real life...

    Surefire E1B Backup problem?

 I have a Surefire E2DL. If I cycle it super fast, sometimes it goes (high off high), but not very much. With a normal clicky action it works just fine.

Who uses the Pelican 8060 these days?

:thumbsup:I don't have that particular Pelican light, but I do have the Pelican 9410 lantern as my home emergency light. I've used it numerous times for under the sink for plumbing issues, and it was great to have when the power went out for 3 hours. This light can light your whole room.

When did you realise it's not all about the throw or millions of lumens

:) It's when I bought my first quality incandescent light, a Underwater Kinetics (SL6) rated @ 200 lumen. It's a great tough light, its been drop numerous times and still works fine! I don't use it much any more but keep it as a home emergency backup light.

Why are Surefire emitters out of date?

 I agree with you carrot. I'm looking for reliability first. That's why I bought the(Pelican 9410) lantern for my home security light, and that's why I have the Surefire E2DL as my everyday work light. The Pelican uses 4 XP-E emitters. The Surefire E2DL XR-E.

Who uses a flashlight because they need to?

 I use my E2DL at work for looking in racks of electronic equipment and other things in my laboratory. I find it invaluable for looking at chassis wiring. It's in my work attache everyday.

Looking for Stainless AAA keychain light

 My LD01ss (XPG R5) is also sort of green compared to the Surefire E2DL or my Pelican 9410 lantern. It's not super green, but slightly. It's my movie theater key chain light, so it does not bother me too much! Other than the green, it's a well made little light.

    Best flashlight for travel?

 I recently took my (UK4AA eLED Zoom Front Switch), with me during my Maui vacation. It's a great little light and water proof to ten feet. I didn't want to chance losing my Surefire E2DL on vacation. It was plenty bright enough to light up the Koi ponds from 5 floors up at the Grand...

    LED Dimming and Color Shift

:shakehead The beauty of PWM is there is much less or no color shift! I know a lot of the flashlight enthusiast on this site don't care for PWM, but the one light I own that uses this LED dimming method (Pelican 9410) at the 300 lumen mode shows no appreciable color shift or PWM noticeable...

    Surefire: TIR or Reflector

I have a E2DL and use it mostly with the F04 diffuser at work. Just take it off and you have a excellent thrower! +1 with you (fresh eddie fresh).

New Pelican 2AAA, the Nemo 1960

:shakeheadThe initial cost of developing a polymer dive light may be more than developing and machining a metal light because of mold development/NRE.
