Yes, I'd like to see this kind of UI too.

500 Lumen - AAA Flashlight (photos) - Work In Progress - Part 2

I've noticed some more problems: 1. With 10250 batteries the light usually works on 3rd level only a fraction of second. It works consistently on 3rd level only with fully charged battery, and if the battery is 4.0V or lower, it won't work. Surprisingly, if you are fast enough to scroll to 4th...

500 Lumen - AAA Flashlight (photos) - Work In Progress - Part 2

Just received my Torpedo. At first I've tested it with Ni-mh, and it worked well, then I tested 10250 and 10440 with two bodies and all was OK on all levels. The problem was when I extended 10250 body to 10440 size, then I inserted 10440 battery and the flashlight smoked. It's worth to...

I bought some Efest IMR 10440 in advance for torpedo, they have real capacity ~300-350 mah, and withstand high current very well. I also have Trustfire 10440 and they are worse in any regard.

For feedback I'm ready to test any version of the Torpedo, so count me in anyway

I agree, I think that getting the most powerful pcb worth a month of waiting.

    Panasonic NCR 18500

I've searched everywhere and didn't find where to buy these. I have 9years old camera battery and wanted to renew it. I have 4x NCR18650A and they have insanely high capacity from 2960-3060mAh (depending on cell, 1A discharge to 2.5V). I think 2000mah for 18500 is close to reality. And it's 1.5x...

My hobby charger has lowest charging current 100mA, it's low enough for 80mah IMR cell, becase IMR can handle high charging current. By the way, I've got Trustfire protected 10440, they are only 290mAh at 200mA discharge. At 1A discharge it falls under 3V almost immediately  About auto...

I think that any hobby charger like iMax B6 is safe for charging 10440 and even 10250's. It has minimum charging current 0.1A and it's ok for IMR 80mah cell.

Please consider the idea I described above: not to turn off at low-voltage, but to automatically decrease output till the voltage reaches allowable range. And only if it's impossible to reach allowable range, turn off.

Sorry, I've missed it. The graph is here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?321289-500-Lumen-AAA-Flashlight-(photos)-Work-In-Progress&p=3759077&viewfull=1#post3759077 Yes, but for someone it will be better to have longer body with more runtime. I'd prefer traditional AAA body...

So IMR10440 will have about 240mah? Have you already tested imr 10440 cells? May be there will be demand for longer cells and bodies and increased runtimes? If you will order custom 10250 batteries, may be it will be possible to made custom batteries longer than 44mm? I think increasing...

I hope you are planning to make enough Torpedoes to make all of us happy :) As for "high first" I think it's not a good idea, because if selector accidentally rotates in the pocket it fill turn to high and this will lead to bad things (overheating and even explosion with bad li-ion). Low first...
