Want to update my original Tigerlight

I still have and use my Tigerlight FBOP Series 1 with Jim Sexton's TL11 (TL11 Carley RF1940-OP/Welch Allyn WA01111 LA 3325K 520 Lumens) and TL74 (TL74 Carley RF1940-OP/WA01274 LA 3320K 360 Lumens) upgrades with spare bulbs too. We're talking 2004/2005 purchases. :) Jim is still active...

McE2S 2-level tailcaps are indeed still useful!

Well having been away from here for a good number of years, I've missed a lot. LED technology has advanced significantly. More to the point, key history I've been unaware of. Just in case I'm not alone for those reading here, I found Don's explanation in Jim Sexton's S3 vs PD thread...

AW protected 17670 in Streamlight Protac HL and Surefire P2X Fury Dual output?

Re: Protected 16650 cells in Surefire P2X Fury Dual output? I'm using AW 17670 cells in a number of my torches without issues. Bought them when my old Pila 168s batteries wore out. Included are a number of E-series Surefire based lights as well as a Longbow Mini with McLux pill.

McE2S 2-level tailcaps are indeed still useful!

I always adhered to the guidance Don provided to me in this old thread: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?54246-Use-of-McE2S-with-P60-or-Pila-3-7v-LA-problematic. So my pair of McE2S-60 tailcaps (one guarded, the other built in a Z52) remained matched with LEDs. In my case...

Is it safe to charge older Pila 168s LiOns in chargers like the XTAR WPII?

I ask because of the comments about the use of the new Pila charger with the older Pila batteries.... not recommended. Anyone????

Is it safe to charge older Pila 168s LiOns in chargers like the XTAR WPII?

My inventory of Pila 168s, 168a, and 150a batteries is long in the tooth as is my original Pila BC1 charger. The later is acting somewhat flaky these days :( Just ordered new 17760, 18650, and 18500 LiOns along with a XTAR WPII. Can the new charger safely be used with the older Pila batteries?

    Luxeon III replacement

I too have a vintage LiOnHeart HA3 with a Lux III TWOJ. Mine retained the V.1 firmware and has the extra 168a Otokoyama HA3 body as well as a Ti pocket clip. Being a retiree my hands and eyes aren't what they once were so attempting any upgrade myself is out of the question. Any suggestions...
