    Im not sure you are refering to as to only having red, but MAXYZ is in red and green, I would say the wavelength is determined by the diode, since there are many to choose from, the colors can be suitably set.

    Its been my experience that the output mirror is very poorly aligned. I took one and aligned it , but i dont have a working diode now to test it

    If you use the original leadlight driver, replace the transistor that drives the diode with one that can handle a higher current, maybe do some fudging with the current sense resistor (.5 ohm) you should be able to increase your current capacity.
