My quark AA has held up great. I've used it everyday for almost 2 years. I would think a mini AA's durability would be even greater, do to being lighter and lack of a mechanical switch.
I'm considering picking up a Surefire Minimus AA shortly. My budget has grown pretty tight lately and would prefer to purchase something that's not outdated soon. Just wondering if they have or are planning an update?
Your NVG's should have a light you can turn on inside the optic. Have you tried fiddling with them to try and find it?
Mine works pretty good out to about 25 meters or so on the darkest nights. Any brighter than that you will wash everyone else out using NVG's.
