    Your Oldest LED Flashlight?

I think my oldest is my Arc AAA followed by either my Arc LSL or my ElektroLumens Blaster. The AAA and the blaster are still used full time. I put the Arc LS in a drawer only because the 123A cells are so expensive.

    Your first led!

My first LED light was an Arc AAA that must be around 8 (or more?) years old by now. I still carry it daily because I haven't seen anything for a reasonable price that beats it, and every day it sets a new dependability record.

"Easiest" CCW Choices/Would like suggestions for concealed carry gun

Excellent point, and one that cannot be overstressed. The BEST gun (or knife/pen/screwdriver/flashlight/watch/etc.) is the one you have with you when you need it. A 5'7", 140 lb guy earing cutoffs and a T shirt in AZ in July, or a 6'5" 300 pounder wearing a parka in Alaska in January won't...

    Small Home Air Compressor thoughts?

I have a Husky (HD brand) unit that is 8 gal., 2.35 SCFM@90 PSI. As mentioned above, ignore any horsepower figures. Use SCFM @ 90 PSI instead, because if you start looking at air tools, they'll usually show their requirements at that pressure. They're under $200 at HD, noisy as hell, but so far...

    best lawnmower

I'm still using my 1984 8 horse Snapper rider (B&S motor). Only major repair was the starter - and after I had replaced it I discovered I could have disassembled & repaired it! I think I now need a new clutch spring - should be able to get one at the hardware store for under $5. I have replaced...

    Sebenza or RSK Mk1

DOH! I got so carried away reading this thread I forgot what the subject was So I'm not surprised... it's off topic for this thread. Sorry. But I think y'all will enjoy looking at it anyway.

    Sebenza or RSK Mk1

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Quest. Time will tell, but this could be very serious competition for the Sebbie. William Henry's fit & finish is second to no other mass manufacturer; and it's a vastly superior, albeit very expensive, new steel (ZDP 189) used in the blade.

    good kukhri?

Atlanta Cutlery has some WWII (and older!) surplus ones for sale, they purchased an entire warehouse full. I don't remember the url, sorry, but try to google it. Otherwise, HI is the way to go.

    Biggest small knife.

Slim AND light, yet still formidable? Hmmmm..... lots of choices, I (or a friend I trust) can vouch for these: the Becker Necker, Camillus Arclite (AG Russell has a D2 version of it), CRKT Bear Claw, or the Emerson La Griffe. Google can be your friend here, search on both "neck knife", and...

homeade tool to lay buried cable

[ QUOTE ] Darell said: ** Darell said a bunch of stuff and now wishes he hadn't.** - edited by Darell [/ QUOTE ] NO! That's not the worst case at all, in fact, that might be one of the better cases! The NEC requires wiring in conduit at least 18" deep. They also recommend (and some local...

Dept of Homeland Security says stop using IE

[ QUOTE ] eluminator said: tkl, shame on you. Don't you know it's politically correct to hate Bill Gates? [/ QUOTE ] Ahhhh PC raises its ugly head again.... if that's the case, I'll be forced to love Bill Gates just because I'm an obstinate SOB and try to be politically incorrect BTW...

homeade tool to lay buried cable

Have you checked your regs to see if you can bury power cable that shallow? ISTR UF had to be in conduit unless it was 3' deep. Could be a lethal surprise for someone with a shovel planting a daisy.
