Why do I pay so much for a flashlight?

(i gave a light to someone i dated, and she wasn't the survivalist type, but there is a way to get them into thinking like a survivalist) To her an "fancy" flashlight is just another expense, to you, it's a survival tool. Rather than just buying some light and handing it to her, and saying...

Does Malkoff have plans to make a complete Surefire LED head (not a drop-in)

I think a lot of people buy LED technology with hopes that they don't have to replace often. I don't think it costs that much more in metal to machine a bezel and cut some threads. I would be more than willing to pay the difference. Not everyone is tracking what Bin their LED or color temp the...

Does Malkoff have plans to make a complete Surefire LED head (not a drop-in)

We all love the drop-ins, but does Gene have plans to make a complete LED conversion head for the Surefire C-heads and E-heads. I just figured it would be more compact, have better heatsinking, and not require any additional shims etc.

What flashlight related idea would you put in a forensic TV series?

well, we would see Grisom with the UV LED version of the Kroma, and he would run into 4sevens who works like the Keymaker in the Matrix Reloaded. 4Seven would be making the Red Green Blue and UV MC-E light with the selector ring style.

I just tested the low mode "10 lumens" on my nitecore EzAA warm tint, 6 inches from my eyes. seems very tolerable (i'm sitting in very low ambient light right now, so my pupils are dilated). if you hold the light high up, angle it downwards, and hit the eyes with just the corona of the beam...

    Where are SureFire Lights/Components Manufactured?

I'm not implying that origin of product doesn't matter. What i mean is, some components of a product needs to be made in a place with real QC standards. More critical parts that require higher degree of QC need to be made in a place that can maintain those standards. Minor parts don't need to be.

    Where are SureFire Lights/Components Manufactured?

in the global economy, i don't care where things are made, as long as it's made correctly and warrantied, i'm fine. i see too many self-proclaimed computer experts who have this impression that electronics made overseas are somehow inferior... i run a lot of SF stuff on my gear , but i still...
