    Vancouver Get-together?

I think any park will be dark enough to avoid city lights. Langley is a bit far but if it is a must then I guess I could make it there.. I am available any day. I think we should choose a park, then see if there are any places open around that park that we could meet up.

    Battery Junction Fire

That is shocking news. I am curious as to the cause of the fire. I hope everything works out and things get up and running again ASAP. The guys over at BatteryJunction have always provided me with the best service!

    JETBeam M2S comparative review

The SST-50 vs MC-E is sort of like the R5 vs R2/Q5 for me. I wasn't that amazed by the throw of the R5. Yes the output was higher but those R5s just didnt do a great job of throwing light, at least in my experience. In this JETBeam example it seems like the SST-50 does output more light but...

"Old" hobby (watches) meets new hobby (led flashlights)

I use a handheld UV torch to charge the lum on my dive watches. You should try it out. Works much faster then standard LED spectrum. Congrats on the new hobby. It's lots of learning and lots of fun.

    JETBeam M2S comparative review

Well let's hope the RRT-3 performs better! M2S doesn't look like that much of an upgrade of the M1X as of now. Maybe future versions will change this.

    SF C2 color questions

Some of the C2s look green and some look gray and some look almost black. It depends on the batch of anodizing. It just depends which batch you buy from.

Help! Looking for good hiking/camping flashlight for nooby

The MTE P7 is not a bad choice. It is a very floody light, you wont get much on runtimes though, plus the batteries aren't readily available. My favorite budget light is the Ultrafire C3 Stainless Steel Cree Q5. Run this on 14500s and it is bright enough to go hiking in pitch dark I think. You...

New Jetbeam M2S with SST-50 LED [+ Pics heavy]

Thanks for the link. Some mighty fine pictures there. I actually like the shape and design of the head. I initially thought the design was strange but after seeing it from other angles I find the head to be quite attractive. OK SOMEONE EMAIL JETBEAM AND TELL THEM THEIR SPELLING FOR TACTICAL IS...

Can you use a dry "Q-Tip" to clean the contacts on the flashlight?

I just use alcohol and wipe it up afterwards with a dry q-tip.

Jetbeam vs Nitecore vs Quark Poll

Hey Joepa. I find that the brightness is better with eneloops over alkalines. For the same price you COULD get 14500 lithiums. Either go with the AW 14500's and a Ultrafire Lithium Charger. Or if you want to go even cheaper get the Trusfire Protected 14500's and Ultrafire Charger. Just depends...

Fenix TK45 - anymore news on this new light?

They still have the olive TK10 on the table. They need to make the TK13 in olive... I miss that olive color.

    What about the unenlightened virgins?

Someone should invent a voice controlled flashlight. That would solve their problems. :twothumbs

Jetbeam vs Nitecore vs Quark Poll

The size is personal preference. There are guys that EDC large lights and find it normal. I think the 10cm mark is my capacity for length in terms of EDC. The JET I Pro is a good size for EDC. If you wanted to go smaller you would have to switch battery types. Maybe go for a single 123a or a...
