    Preferred flashlight activation

I used to prefer twisty before but my taste as changed over the years to forward-clicky on smaller flashlights and neck-clicky for medium-large flashlights. Haven't had the chance to use a flashlight with a piston drive yet.

Give us what we want manufacturers... Hi CRI Neutral White emitters(poll to prove it)

I wish all the lights I use (home/office/car/flashlights) could all be neutral white instead of yellow or cool white.

    Incandescent Vs Led

This post made me want to go out and buy an incan.

2x AA, Simple modes, around $25-30

I just got my Nitecore MT2A flashlight and haven't played around with it much but I think it is user programmable. With the head tightened, I have it click-on Turbo and then a another click for low.

2x AA, Simple modes, around $25-30

I paid I think $30US for a Nitecore MT2A on Ebay with free shipping. Took me awhile to find a price that low though, I think they're usually closer to $40. Really bright though at 345 lumens.

Which Light contains the most AA Batteries?

Wow, that one looks like good bang for buck. Saw on BudgetLightForum in a 2012 thread that it was sold in Costco for $49.

Self defence flashlight for my wife

If it was me, I'd give her a high powered 2 AA flashlight and use Eneloop batteries. Flashlight: Nitecore MT2A or EagTac D25A2 or Similar The Eneloop batteries hold their charge for years. Older Eneloop Pros hold 75% charge even after a year, the newer Eneloops Pros do even better. Regular...

    Is it normal...?

I just bought 2 MT2A flashlights and I didn't notice a difference in tint. Although variations in tint may just not bother me as much since even I barely noticed the tint in the photos you attached. I can see the difference, but in my opinion, the difference is negligible. However, the rings...

    Jetbeam ssa20, nitecore mt2a, eagletac d25a2

I just got my MT2A yesterday. The quality seems very good and I find that it is a very bright light at 345 lumens. The XP-G2 LEDs used in the Nitecore I think will have more throw and battery life than the flashlights that use XM-L or XM-L2 LEDs.

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

Just got my first "good" flashlight yesterday. I picked up 2 Nitecore MT2As. Even at 345 lumens, I find it amazingly bright and can't wait to use it the next time I go camping. :twothumbs

Why do companies still manufacture incandescent flashlights?

All very good points, but I'm not sure if price point is a factor. I bought some decent quality LED flashlights that cost the same or less than incan flashlights at big box retailers. Also, it seems that all bicycle lights have made the switch from incan to LED, but why is there such a slow...

Why do companies still manufacture incandescent flashlights?

With the seemingly exponential growth in the use of LEDs, why are there still manufacturers that use incandescent bulbs in their flashlights? I would have thought that any cheap LED bulb would outperform with more lumens and less power drain than a conventional incan bulb?

Anyone else think Maglite are missing some obvious tricks?

I never knew those kind of upgrade kits were available! I'll have to go to BassProShop next time. My parents have a few Maglites at home with the old incan bulbs. Would make for a fun project!
