You Remember That We Wanted Bronze Lights?

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I don't think it looks very different from other modern lights. I would've liked to see it with a mahogany or teak jacket around the barrel and a more Victorian or steampunk look, but one cannot have everything if one is not very rich! I bet some...

You Remember That We Wanted Bronze Lights?

The original thread was years ago, I'm not surprised that you don't remember (EDIT: Looks like it's from before your join date). The impetus for the light was memories of bronze sailboat hardware and the patina it developed when exposed to salty air. We are aware of the differences between...

You Remember That We Wanted Bronze Lights?

Well, over in the /r/flashlight subreddit we managed to get one built by Acebeam! 18650, 1100 lumens, 4000k temperature. Should be great. Here's the spec page: http://acebeam.com/ec35-bronze I never thought I would actually see something like this, but... Well, call me surprised. All my...

    Bronze flashlights?

Wow, I really like that one! Obviously made by an artist. I haven't seen Jeff's stuff before, and they seem for sale as often as hen's teeth. Very nice light. :-)

    Bronze flashlights?

I hate to resurrect such an old thread, but in the intervening years since this was posted I have not yet seen a bronze flashlight. There is now a thread over on the /r/flashlight subreddit (is it taboo to mention/link that?) where they are taking a survey on who would be interested in a bronze...

Not sure why it is bothering me, I said to myself that it wouldn't.

I chose to standardize on AA Eneloops and AW 18650s. Why limit yourself? 18650s run high-power lights well and AAs run literally everything else in the house.

    The perfect light for you

I have a short list: Made of bronze AA size, optimized for Eneloops Twisty Useful knurling on both head and body Low-Med-High settings, 3.5-30-110 lumens Optic-based beam control rather than reflector 90+ CRI @ 4300K Sized appropriately for a keychain This is basically a premium version of a...

    Evacuation and Power Outage

This is what I do! Whenever I go to a new place where I will be removing my EDC items from my pockets, the first thing I do is select a place where they ALL go. It was the first thing I did when we moved to our new house and it's the first thing I do when we visit a hotel or family member's...

    5.11 "tactical"

Wow, add 5.11 to the list of companies to avoid! Very disappointing. Go Elzetta or Surefire.

    18350 keychain light?

So... are there any 18350 keychain lights out there? Been pondering different ways to use those AW cells.

    New Maglite 3rd Generation 2D/3D - 524 + 625 lumens stock!

Not much for you and me and our Eneloops or 18650s. 1.4 amp is a pretty stout load for a D cell that is expected to maintain a long runtime. As much as this may not be a popular opinion, I'm going to say that these new models are a nice step forward for Joe Public. The high brightness won't...

With 2013 LED technology- who has switched back to AAs for their flashlights?

I have almost completely transitioned to AAs, with two exceptions: my KT4 Surefire Lego that is mounted to a rifle, and a FiveMega-bodied 6P with a 3x Nichia high-CRI drop-in module, both 18650. There are no more primary-powered lights in this house, because I gave away all my CR123A lights and...

Wow, why in the world do you carry a flashlight with you?

Re: Why do you EDC a light? I usually use a light several times a week for walking during my lunch break (shift is 3:30-midnight), and it comes in handy during final assembly inspections or on the very rare occasion the one of my buddies pulls a fast one and turns the bathroom lights off when...

    CPF's magical power...

Haha, yes, behold the power of CPF! I don't want to even consider how much money I spent finding the right light and battery setup for me and mine.... It's sort of like wine or beer - once you've had the good stuff it's hard to go back! Sent from my iPad using Candlepowerforums
