    Cheers to ILLUMINATION SUPPLY

Cheers to illumination Supply for their excellent customer service. They replaced my Preon 2 Hi CRI which suddenly quit working. 4 Sevens offered to replace will Cool White, but did not have the Hi CRI available, so Illumination Supply replaced without hassle. Prompt service and communication too.

    Penlight for medical purposes

I'm a physician, and recently got the Preon2 with Hi CRI Nichia, and find it very nice for throat illumination. Have found my Welch-Allen otoscopes inadequate for good throat exam ( I use to have an old WA Otoscope with detachable head/throat illuminator that worked great, but it is long gone)...

Two doctors going to Kenya - which lights would serve them best?

The pharmaceutical companies are not even giving out pens or scratch pads anymore, much less trips to conferences; If they are, they are extremely rare and limited. Occasionally a low budget lunch is provided in order to catch the doctor or staff's ear for a few moments while they eat.

Two doctors going to Kenya - which lights would serve them best?

I would say that for actual medical use, they probably already have purpose design lights such as Welch-Allen Otoscopes/throat lights etc. and will likely be doing most of their medical work during the daytime. When I was in Turkanaland, Kenya, I found that a flashlight was most handy for...

How to take pics of a polished SS light

Taken with lights shot through acetate sheet as a diffuser, and wrapped over the object to simplify the image reflected off the polished surface. Kinda like a light tent.

I love this Japanese doctor's YouTube reviews of knives, flashlights, and his life.

    Photos of your lights

Thanks. The YO2 is mine, the Kimber is actually my son's, but I thought it classy with the other items.

Total Noob - Want to mod EX10 GDP

I've got an old Nitecore EX10 GDP that has gone kaput and would like to bring it back to life. I would like to replace the driver (which is bad) and the emitter (which is still good) with a Nichia 219 if possible. I don't need a bunch of modes like strobe or SOS, but would like at least v. Low...

How bout a good light for a concert sound tech ?

Having done a little sound board work, I haven't seen the need for High CRI lights. Most sound boards have small, flexible boom lights to light the board. Where I've found the need, is in trying to read or write notes, looking for items (eg: mikes, batteries, etc) under the board, in drawers...

    Zebralight SC600 & SC600W discussion part 2

Re: Zebra light SC600 (W) discussion part 2 I've tended to notice the greenish tint since everyone has been pointing it out. If I just use the light for illumination as it is intended, then I don't notice it, but if I examine the beam, spill, tint, etc then I can find fault. It is kinda like...
